AT HOME‘s Architect and Designer Awards is the only local contest that allows St. Louis’ architects and designers to have their work reviewed by the best and biggest names in the business,” says Christy Marshall, editor-in-chief of St. Louis AT HOME. “The entries this year raised the bar and showed the depth of talent in St. Louis. I congratulate all the finalists for succeeding against some very tough competition and very discerning judges.”

The first, second, and third place winners of each category are named in the November/December issue of AT HOME, which was unveiled at the awards reception. The issue hits subscribers on October 25 and newsstands on October 29 and includes atwenty-one page feature on the contest including project descriptions and photographs of all the first place award-winning work. The project photographs and descriptions of the second and third place winners can be viewed at www.stlathome.com.

AT HOME received nearly 175 entries–the most ever in the history of the contest. The judges panel of the 2010 AT HOME Architect and Designer Award competition consisted of the following national design and architecture enthusiasts: Barbara Barry, world-renowned designer of interiors and furniture; Carol Bentel, award-winning architect and partner of Bentel and Bentel in New York City; Lisa Frazar, interior designer and owner of Design Frazar in New York City; Kirsten Murray, award-winning architect and partner at Olson Kundig in Seattle; Lisa Newsom/Dara Caponigro, editor-in-chief of Veranda Magazine; and Margaret Russell, then editor-in-chief of Elle Décor and now editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest.

The competition is open to all local design, architect, and landscape firms. The competition is open to both firms and individuals who have completed work in Missouri, but it is also open to entries of work completed elsewhere.
