J. Greene’s Irish Pub is closing its doors this weekend. The Warson Woods restaurant and bar (10017 Manchester) wrote in a Facebook post this week that it will be closing this Saturday, June 26, after eight years in business.

J. Greene’s opened in 2013, with husband-and-wife team Jason and Juliet Greene taking over the space once occupied by Big Bear Grill. The Greenes, who met while working at McGurk’s Irish Pub and Garden, wanted to open a “simple neighborhood spot serving scratch comfort foods,” Jason Greene told SLM at the time.
Specifically, the pair wanted to serve meats that were smoked and roasted in house in various flavor combinations to avoid becoming “another place serving dried-out chicken breasts topped with something to disguise the dryness,” Jason Greene said in 2013.
The menu also included a smoked chicken pot pie, pastas made in house, meatballs made with a generations-old family recipe, Bud Light–battered fried chicken, and an extensive dessert menu with cookies, brownies, and cobblers.
“We have poured our hearts and souls into making The Pub the most welcoming and friendly gathering place in the area,” the restaurant noted in the Facebook post. “We will never be able to repay all of the love and support that we have received, which is appreciated far more than you will ever know.”
