After opening their health-focused restaurant near Citygarden less than a year ago, brothers Matt and Mike Ratz will expand the concept to a larger space and add dinner hours, new items, and a private event space.

Based on a creative new food item, “a play on the smash burger concept,” the restaurant is slated to open next spring.

Craig and Mowgli Rivard’s Fox Park gem opened in December 2019, just a few months before the pandemic.

The response has been overwhelming, with tickets selling out in less than 10 minutes. Forthcoming dinners feature Café Provencal’s Eddie Neill, Café Balaban alumni Mike Holmes and Brian Young, and the former Remy’s Wine Kitchen’s Lisa Slay.

Chicago-based Brian Fisher will oversee the kitchens of the fast-casual brand’s seven brick-and-mortar locations.

The space has been fully restored after a devastating fire last December, and guests can expect a well-stocked bar and small plates.

Chef Juan Gutierrez’s menu spans classic Mexican specialties and the dishes that he loved eating while growing up in Mexico.
