A message from Eric Schmid, St. Louis Magazine Business Editor

The economic landscape in St. Louis is vast and vibrant. We’re home to 10 businesses on the Fortune 1000 and numerous privately held companies. Corporations headquartered here help feed our pets, guide our finances, charge our devices, and allow us to travel the world. St. Louis also has a rich entrepreneurial spirit, where people’s imaginative ideas have space to start up, take root, and blossom, as well as world-class academic and research institutions, local governments, and nonprofits looking to bolster the region’s economic prosperity.

But it’s not always about chasing the next big thing. We’re blessed with a plethora of small and family-run businesses that help shape what St. Louis is about—from the clothing we wear to the art we display and cuisine we enjoy.

The Business newsletter aims to spot the business throughline in the biggest stories affecting our region and arrive promptly in your inbox each morning, ready to enjoy with that first (or second) cup of coffee. If you’re involved in the St. Louis business scene or simply want to know more about what’s going on, you don’t want to miss this daily dose of news.

Ideas, tips, and suggestions are always welcome. Send me an email.
