Tatum’s commercials will begin airing throughout the Midwest in September.

“We are excited Jayson Tatum is our newest celebrity spokesperson to highlight all the great things St. Louis has to offer,” Explore St. Louis’ chief marketing officer Brian Hall said in a statement. “Our ‘In the Know’ campaign has proven to be a fun way to attract new visitors and inspire more people to explore St. Louis; having Jayson as part of it will make it even more successful.”

Tatum is the latest celebrity with St. Louis ties to appear in the ad campaign, joining Sterling K. Brown, Nikki Glaser, John Goodman, Jenna Fischer, Andy Cohen, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Jenifer Lewis, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Ozzie Smith. In return for Tatum’s support, Explore St. Louis says it will make a donation to the Jayson Tatum Foundation, which uses educational and athletic support to inspire kids to chase their dreams.

As he’s become one of the faces of the NBA in recent years, Tatum has enjoyed a variety of marketing opportunities. He starred in an ad campaign for Gatorade earlier this year, for example. Tatum has also nodded to his adoration for St. Louis in his Jordan Brand endorsement. His first signature shoe with the company, the Tatum 1, features several St. Louis-inspired details, including a fleur-de-lis.
