A 21-year-old St. Louis man spent $3,000 in other people’s money at his local Imo’s over the past three months, police say.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Trent C. Kyles on Monday on charges of stealing and fraudulent use of a credit card. A probable cause statement says that between July and September of this year, Kyles made numerous online orders at the Imo’s Pizza on Forest Park Parkway in the Central West End using other people’s credit and debit card numbers. The pizzeria is about a mile and a half from Kyles’ apartment in DeBaliviere Place.

The spending spree led to $3,000 in square-beyond-compare charges to be disputed, meaning that the Imo’s location—listed as the victim in court filings—had to eat the costs of the product loss.
The Imo’s owner reported the pattern of disputed charges to police. The owner had previously made deliveries to Kyles’ apartment and identified him in a photo line-up.
A police search of Kyles’ residence turned up a pair of IDs, one for a Utah man named Marvin and another for a Missourian named Angel, neither of whom lived in the apartment. Both the charges against Kyles are felonies.
According to police, the pattern of bogus pizza orders began on July 20 and lasted through September 8, meaning that Kyles was dropping a little more than $60 a day of other people’s money to feed his Provel habit.
