When we research our annual “A-List” feature, we seek out the latest and greatest, things that are moving the city forward in ways big and small. It’s the same with the magazine and website: We’re always searching for ways to refine the publication’s design and content, hoping to enhance your reading experience.
So when we realized nearly 50 percent of readers were visiting stlmag.com from their mobile devices, we knew it was time for a change. Over the past five years, we’d amped up the magazine’s online offerings in myriad ways—writing daily blog posts on a variety of topics, introducing e-newsletters, adding video—but the mobile experience wasn’t user-friendly. We set out to change that, and we spent the next year hunting for the best ways to improve the site.
Soon, stlmag.com’s design will be far friendlier for your cell or tablet. The site will have a cleaner look, making it easier to navigate on any size screen. Stories will be organized by topic, not by blog category or issue date, so you can quickly find articles of interest. You’ll also be able to select a writer’s byline and instantly access almost everything that he or she has ever written for the magazine. And the online calendar will help you quickly map out events and add them to your own calendar.
Speaking of events, don’t forget about our annual A-List party: Thursday, July 10, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. It’s your chance to meet the winners you’ll read about in these pages, savor outstanding food and music in Maryland Plaza, and chat with our editors. We’re ready to hear your ideas about the next great thing—in St. Louis and in our magazine.
