The idea began with a patch of weeds inside one of EarthDance Farms’ greenhouses. When the Ferguson farm decided to create an onsite yoga studio, the staff realized “the most prolific flooring of all lay all around us in parks and pastures,” notes Nate Wolff, yoga instructor and assistant farm manager. The idea also un-derscored the farm’s practice of permaculture, or “creating self-sustaining systems by mimicking nature.” Partnering with Yoga Buzz, the farm transformed a site once used for storage into a serene studio with a lush bed of ground cover plants. This spring, the farm began offering free twice-weekly holistic yoga classes that bring the community closer to nature. 233 S. Dade, 314-521-1006, earthdance-farms.org.
