Kathleen Lees is a local freelancer who regularly writes for St. Louis Magazine and the St. Louis Jewish Light. Additionally, she has written for such local publications as the Webster-Kirkwood Times, St. Louis Public Radio, and St. Louis Riverfront Times. She’s covered numerous topics, ranging from medical science to business. As a disability advocate, however, she’s particularly passionate about healthcare and accessibility issues. In addition to freelancing, she runs a Substack titled “Chronically Called,” which documents her own journey with chronic health conditions and regularly interviews those with similar lived-experiences. When not writing, she teaches English as a Second Language to adult immigrants at Clayton High School.
