When it comes to healthy living, founder of RISE Collaborative, Stacy Taubman and COO, Kate Wiegmann are real-life superwomen, paving the way for female entrepreneurs, up-and-coming #girlbosses, and yoga-loving chicas. We sat down with these two powerhouses to talk fitness, food, and business over a piping hot cup of Kaldi’s Coffee, a new addition to the RISE space. Find out how two career-women balance work, life, and everything else in between and the everyday essentials they use to conquer the day.
“I need a workout schedule that offers a lot of variety,” says Wiegmann, a woman on the go and frequent Class Pass user. She switches up her workout routines with high-intensity classes from Shred415, Pedal Pedal Cycling Studio, Yoga Six, and PLNK. Wiegmann finds her inner zen through early morning workouts. She starts her day off right with either Pilates, strength training, yoga, or a brisk jog. “I think yoga especially has helped with confidence and mindfulness,” she adds.

In her Mary Poppins bag of goodies, Wiegmann has an assortment of organic beauty and hair products to help her stay fresh between workouts and meetings at RISE. “I can’t live without my ColorProof dry shampoo,” she says. She keeps her fast-heating Bio Ionic curling iron handy for the occasional evening networking party (for example, Wine Down Wednesday, a relaxed evening filled with cabernet sauvignon and connecting).
Take a peek inside Stacy Taubman’s workout bag, and you’ll find some fashionable workout gear from Lululemon, low-maintenance beauty must-haves, and a pair of headphones perfect for when she wants to tune in to motivating podcasts like School of Greatness en route to the office. Taubman refers to herself as a “weekend warrior.” Just a few days before the interview, she was on her way to Hawaii, where she seized the opportunity to do some mountain hiking. As a former gymnast and Zumba instructor, Taubman is no novice when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. When she’s not in front of the camera or being interviewed by USA Today and Elle Magazine, Taubman enjoys getting outside and going for a run or hitting the mat for a strength building yoga class with Kelley Bauer with Offbeat Yoga.
“You need energy to run a business,” she says. “Working out helps with that.”
RISE Collaborative Workspace offers a dynamic community of intelligent and supportive women all on the road to “professional and personal success.” The beautiful brightly-lit space is comprised of both private offices and open workspace for members to collaborate, inspire, and “get shit done.” It even hosts a corporate yoga class from time to time.
This month’s theme for RISE Collaborative is work/life/balance; both Taubman and Wiegmann recognize that we all need a little help when it comes to finding that healthy happy medium.
“Life is like interval training,” says Taubman. “It’s okay to not always have a structured balance/schedule. You have to listen to your mind and body and always have self-compassion.”
