Enter Vladimir’s wife, Yana, who on Thursday afternoon posted an Instagram photo of the couple’s brand-new son, born on June 6, just two days before Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. It’s the second photo to be posted of the baby, but the first where you can really see him.
And forget a bassinet, baby Tarasenko sleeps in the Stanley Cup. This solved one mystery—the location of the Cup—but another remains. What will the Tarasenkos name their newborn?
“Stanley” has, of course, come up as a possibility more than once. Or rather, “Stanley” in Russian—a nod to his parents’ birthplaces—as these Twitter users suggest.
For now, we wait, and marvel at how cute six-day-old baby Tarasenko is. One thing is for sure: Tarasenko is having quite the week. When Fox Sports Midwest asked him who he was thinking about just moments after the history-making win, he answered his family and wife, who just days ago gave birth to its newest addition.
