Schlafly Beer will host its 16th annual Art Outside Festival at Schlafly Bottleworks next weekend, May 24–26. The event features local bands, beer, festival fare, and local art from 67 artists within a 125-mile radius. This year, “Puppy Pawtraits” (keepsakes created by dogs with non-toxic, washable paint) will highlight the brewery’s latest can release of Uncaged Ale, produced in partnership with The Watering Bowl and the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. The $5 Pawtrait fee and a portion of the Ale proceeds help rescue animals across Missouri. 7260 Southwest, 314-241-2337.
INSIDER TIP
Making grandma proud

Besides reasonable prices and above-average pizza, part of the appeal of Liliana’s Italian Kitchen is the old-school charm, from the Rat Pack and Sopranos references to the use of mismatched plates. Owners Tim and Kathy Pieri are currently accepting donations of “Grandma’s dishes,” as Tim calls them. Dinner plates, salad plates, platters, all are welcome, he says, “expensive, gaudy, classy—we love them all.” The veteran restaurateur adds, “We’d like to open two or three Liliana’s—and I hope to have a roomful of plates when we do.” 11836 Tesson Ferry, 314-729-1800.

Dead & Hidden Links
These days, a restaurant’s online presence is key when it comes to generating diners’ interest. So when any of its digital components—website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter—contain links to the restaurant’s other pages that are hidden or dead, it’s a missed opportunity. Survival means using all of the tools at one’s disposal, especially in today’s competitive dining environment. And not taking full advantage of the free ones—like social media—is unforgivable.
