Snō (3611 Juniata) has closed after less than four months in business. The last day of service was December 2. The restaurant’s website and Instagram have been taken down; its Facebook page is still active.
Snō is owned by Tony Nguyen and was managed by him and his wife, Jessica Nguyen, both accomplished chefs. Snō opened to rave reviews in mid-August and closed five weeks later, after Tony was charged with domestic assault. The charges were later dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
The Tower Grove South restaurant, which quietly reopened in late September, featured a modern, sometimes whimsical take on Asian cuisine. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant seated 100 and occupied two levels, with a bar on each floor and a center staircase.
Tony Nguyen recently decided to sell the restaurant, including the furniture, fixtures, equipment, and smallware, according to Chris Eckrich, the broker listing the turnkey business. Eckrich says the recent departure of several businesses along the South Grand corridor creates an opportunity for new restaurants.
"South Grand is still a dining destination," he says, "and the demographics there haven’t changed, especially when you consider the possibilities for lunch, carryout, delivery, and late night.”
