Seamus McGowan of McGowan Brothers Development confirms that his firm is in the process of purchasing the long-time Des Peres location of Casa Gallardo, off Des Peres Road just south of Manchester Road, and will turn it into a second location of Rosalita’s Cantina.
“We hope to have it open by New Year’s,” said McGowan, who added that the new restaurant will have a similar menu to the existing downtown location.

TR,i Architects is designing a substantial renovation of and addition to the existing structure, which will remove and reconstruct about one-third of the building, as well as adding about 160 patio seats on the north and east. The new Rosalita’s will have seating for about 400, versus 350 downtown.
The original location opened in 2010 at 1229 Washington Avenue.
