It wouldn’t be a proper 4th of July celebration without a proper barbecue. Here are a dozen specials to add some flavor to the holiday weekend.
The Capital Grille: Looking to DIY this holiday but in need of a little guidance? The Clayton steakhouse is offering four uncooked steaks, its signature steak sauce, and seasoning in its Steak Grille Boxes. Customize a meal by choosing from bone-in dry-aged New York strip, bone-in prime ribeye, or both; then add drinks and select accompaniments, such as lobster mac n’ cheese. 101 S. 612 North Event Space + Catering: Choose from two grill-at-home packages, and order before Wednesday for free delivery. The Grill ‘N Chill package includes six burger sliders and six chicken and veggie kabobs plus condiments and sides for $62. The Fire-Works package includes five sliders, five kabobs, five pork steaks, condiments, and sides, for an additional $5. Orders must be placed before Friday. 612 N. Kimchi Guys: Add a little flair to the traditional 4th of July BBQ with Kimchi Guys’ Korean BBQ Meal Kit. The kit is just $69 for the holiday. The Dark Room: What’s better than classic barbecue? When the meal's paired with live music. The Dark Room, Kranzberg Arts Foundation, and Jazz St. Louis will provide it all on Friday and Saturday on The Dark Room’s patio. Vicia: The acclaimed restaurant's July 4th BBQ to Go kit’s fixins’ are all from Missouri. Barbecue ribs, spatchcok chicken, sides, and banana cream pie are all included for $150. Order in advance, and pick up on July 3. 4260 Forest Park, 314-553-9239.
Veritas Gateway to Food and Wine: Options at the Ellisville restaurant include braised pork, burgers, hot dogs, grilled salmon, sides, and (of course) house-made cocktails. Little preparation is required, including preordering. 15860 Fountain Plaza, Ellisville, 636-227-6800.
The Red Dirt Revival: Fans of the Father’s Day pack are in luck: Food-truck chefs Chloe Yates and Ben McArthur are bringing back a multitude of brats, sausages, burgers, fixins', and desserts to celebrate the holiday weekend. Check out the full menu here. 314-600-2412.

Blood & Sand: For the July 4 holiday, the restaurant known for its wide variety of Dinners for Two is offering a coursed meal that includes peach gazpacho, yuzu compressed watermelon salad, creamy potato salad, smoked wild boar baby back ribs, grilled corn on the cob, and baked mac & cheese. $75 for two (multiples are available). Winslow's Table: A farm fresh feast is being offered this holiday for pickup on July 3 between 4 and 6 p.m. The spread includes a whole brined, rubbed, and spatchcocked Buttonwood Farms chicken (just throw it on the grill or in the oven, a cooking video is included); pulled pork with berry BBQ sauce; pasta salad with summer vegetables; cornbread with whipped butter; tomato, fresh mozz, and cucumber salad; blackberry cobbler. $150 for four guests.
