Children’s clothing boutique Stitches & Littles (53 West County Center, 314-966-9919) opened in West County Center earlier this month after relocating from its original location in Alton, Ill.
Owners Lindsey Weiss and Michael Charlton launched the flagship store after realizing how few clothing options were available for their daughter, Karli.

“Every season you’ll find the same brand in the same style,” says Weiss. “They just repeat over and over again. We didn’t want that for our daughter. We really wanted to give the area options.”
The boutique carries girls’ clothing in sizes preemie to 10; boys’ clothing is available in sizes preemie to 8.
Weiss says some of the store’s best-selling items are dresses from MaeLi Rose, which start at $30, and clothing from the popular brand, Persnickety. In addition to clothing, Stitches & Littles carries books and eco-friendly toys made in the United States. Changeable Chewables, a line of teething accessories created by a St. Louis mom, are also available.
“I try to find things I would use with my own daughter. Items I think would be essential to me,” Weiss says.
Weiss will also host events at the new location. A weekly story time begins June 24, and a weekly baby signing class starts July 10. Book signings, tea parties, and an essential oils class also are in the works.
“I really want to make sure we’re giving people something they can use and that we’re not just selling clothing. It’s about the experience,” she says.
Stitches & Littles will hold its grand opening celebration July 17-19. The event starts with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday and continues all weekend long with giveaways, sweet treats, and a visit from two princesses.
