Some sisters can barely make it through a day without bickering, but Olivia and Emma Burney, better known as The Burney Sisters, perform in perfect harmony.

At ages 13 and 10, the sister act were set to be the youngest act ever to play LouFest before its cancellation.

The Columbia, Missouri-based folk/pop duo began singing together around the house before learning to play guitar. Older sister Olivia currently writes much of the music, including such singles as “Constellations” and “Plastic,” featured on their EP Running Away.

The sisters plan to release a new EP soon, and they’ll perform at Columbia’s Roots N’ Blues N’ Barbecue Music Festival, September 28–30. As for other future plans? “We are hoping to go on tour,” says Olivia. “I’ve always wanted to go on tour.”
