Ed Sheeran, St. Louis Symphony reschedule cancelled performances

New dates for two big shows; we’ll update as we hear more.

A number of cultural events were canceled last week after protests erupted in the wake of the not guilty verdict against police officer Jason Stockley. So far, the St. Louis Symphony and Ed Sheerhan have announced new dates.

Yesterday, via a press release, the symphony announced that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert performances intially calendared for September 15 and 16 had been rescheduled for Thursday, April 5, 2018, and Saturday, April 7, 2018. Tickeholders have been alerted, but any questions can be directed to the Box Office (314-534-1700).

Even bigger news this afternoon: Ed Sheerhan will be back to St. Louis a little less than a year from now, on September 6, to perform at at Busch Stadium; it will be the fourth stop on his 2018 North American Stadium Tour. Tickets are available through cardinals.com/edsheeran, and go on sale to the general public on October 20. Here are all the deets on presale tickets, via the press release:

To ensure that tickets go to his fans, not scalpers or bots, Sheeran is partnering with Ticketmaster to use the #VerifiedFan system. Presale registration atedsheeran.com opened on Friday, September 22, and closes on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. ET.

#VerifiedFan presales are set to begin Monday, October 16, at 10:00 a.m. CT and run through Thursday, October 19, at 10:00 p.m. CT.

Sheehan’s life was extremely eventful last week—not only did he cancel his show here, but he released the latest single, “Perfect” off his new album, ÷ (pronounced “divide”). The video clocked more than 3 million YouTube views the first day, and is now at 6.4 million views and counting. The album is, so far, 2017’s best-selling record, and he’s currently “one of the planet’s most popular performers.” For more info this and other events scheduled at Busch, go to cardinals.com/events.
