Celebrate International Women’s Day with a tipsy tea party and panel at Angad Arts Hotel

Angad Arts Hotel, Golden Gems, and Big Heart Tea will host a Tipsy Tea Tell All tea party and panel on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day.

According to Angad Arts Hotel director of sales and marketing Jenna Phillips, this year is about becoming a “staple in the community” and showing St. Louis that the Angad is more than just a place to stay. “We want to show people that we aren’t just an arts hotel,” Phillips says. “There’s something for everyone here.”

For Angad, something for everyone includes the inaugural Tipsy Tea Tell All, a women’s empowerment celebration hosted in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 at Angad’s new, state-of-the-art event venue, The Vaude. According to Phillips, the event is “a modern tea party and panel of powerhouse women who have made their name in St. Louis, complete with networking opportunities,” fusing a classy high-tea experience with the electric energy of an open bar.

“St. Louis has a lot to celebrate as far as women’s empowerment,” Phillips says. “There are so many amazing women who do great things for this city and do great things for this community.”

Event hosts Big Heart Tea Co. and Golden Gems are just a few of the esteemed, local, women-owned businesses spearheading the evening. Phillips sought out the two brands because, she says, they aligned seamlessly with the theme of empowerment and inspiration.

“It just made sense to have this dynamic event with these two critical community partners,” says Phillips. Big Heart Tea Co. will provide the three tea-infused cocktails available for the night, while Golden Gems will donate items for swag bags and host the official after party at their disco-themed dive bar, Hidden Gem

The evening’s panelists—which include AK Brown, Lisa Govro, Holly Fann, Caitlin Metz, Susan Logsdon, and Amanda Helman—are multifaceted pioneers succeeding in industries from business to journalism. Their panel will be moderated by award-winning KMOV reporter Alexis Zotos.

“We wanted a range of individuals that make an impact in the community and could speak to everybody’s journey, no matter where the attendee is or what industry they might be in,” Phillips says. “I’m most excited for the networking portion, because I like being able to connect with other individuals in the community.”

Organizers say that attendees should expect to leave the evening full of connection and festivities “feeling not only empowered, but proud.”

“I think being a woman is such a beautiful thing,” Phillips says. “To be able to celebrate that with like-minded individuals and other women on a day like International Women’s Day is very important.”

The Tipsy Tea Tell All will be hosted at Angad Arts Hotel on March 8 from 4:30–7:30 p.m. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
