One of the best things about The Gumbo Shop’s jambalaya is that it’s not too spicy. If that sounds like an odd thing to say about a dish that comes from a cuisine renowned for its kick, well, the mildness makes it more accessible. That’s not to say this jambalaya doesn’t have any heat—it has a nice little tingle, but not so much that it will vanquish the meek. If you like punishing your taste buds, reach for one of the bottles of hot sauce. Packed with chicken, pork, sausage, shrimp and vegetables and mixed with rice, this jambalaya is a down-home, hearty treat that sticks to your ribs and will leave you dreaming of a return visit to The Gumbo Shop.
