Why wait? Now you can get Ted Drewes at the airport.
Now you won’t even have to leave the airport to get a taste of a St. Louis favorite.
Ted Drewes is selling its famous frozen custard at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Three chilled vending machines installed in each of Lambert’s concourses offer six of the top-selling flavors—vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, Oreo cookie, Heath Bar, and chocolate chip—for $6 each.
“Ted Drewes has a fanatical following here, and we’re excited to be able to offer a unique taste of St. Louis in the airport for our millions of visitors who might not otherwise get a chance to visit the south St. Louis custard stands,” says Lambert Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge in a statement. Lambert served more than 12 million passengers last year.

Ted Drewes promises that each yellow, eight-ounce cup of concrete-style custard will be “so thick you can turn it upside down,” according to Chris Beckemeier, Ted Drewes operational manager. The vending machines are a first for the family-owned custard shop, which has two locations in south St. Louis.
As if you needed any further proof that Ted Drewes is a St. Louis staple, TV star and STL native Ellie Kemper brought Hawaiian and pistachio concretes and chocolate and strawberry custards to the set of the Today show, where she’s guest hosting this week.
"Every time we get on television, that’s quite an accomplishment," Travis Dillon, President of Ted Drewes, tells Feast Magazine about Kemper’s plug. "We’re just a small place here in St. Louis, so I think it’s an amazing thing.”
