Where to find World Cup watch parties in St. Louis

Gather with fellow fans to cheer on the U.S. Men’s National Team in this year’s tournament

It’s been a while since we’ve had the opportunity to gather in groups and watch the men in red, white, and blue take the field in the FIFA World Cup. Thankfully, the wait ends Monday.

The United States Men’s National Team is back in the global tournament, kicking off their group stage run with an opener against Wales at 1 p.m. The World Cup is a great time to gather friends and root for a common cause, and with this year’s event taking place in a non-traditional holiday window, it will surely be a tournament to remember. Seriously, we’re already counting down the hours until that Black Friday showdown with the Brits.

Several places around the region have already announced plans for watch parties for the U.S. group stage matches, which will take place on these dates:

  • Monday, November 21: vs. Wales, 1 p.m.
  • Friday, November 25: vs. England, 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 29: vs. Iran, 1 p.m.

Here’s where you can take your friends (and meet new ones) in St. Louis to watch the Americans in action.

(Editor’s note: We’ll update this page as more parties are announced.)

Amsterdam Tavern

3175 Morgan Ford

St. Louis’ most renowned soccer bar is going all out for this year’s World Cup. Amsterdam plans to close down Morgan Ford in front of the tavern for a Black Friday watch party for the highly-anticipated U.S. match vs. England. Keep in mind that the tavern shares a beer garden with its neighboring sister bar, Tres Equis, which will be open at the same times as Amsterdam. The tavern will also open as early as 6:30 a.m. on days when there are matches at 7 a.m.

Ballpark Village

601 Clark

There was a lively, festive atmosphere at Ballpark Village for the U.S. matches in 2014. You can expect the same this year, while watching the matches on the big screen. Come early and stay late for pre- and post-match parties featuring DJ Superman. There will also be opportunities to play games and win prizes. Among the specials is a Golden Goal! Bucket of Budweiser and Live! Nachos for $50. To reserve seating, email Ballpark Village.

Beffa’s

2700 Olive

Beffa’s is typically closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But for the upcoming U.S. and Switzerland matches that fall on those days—including the United States’ dates with Wales and Iran—Beffa’s bar will be open. The bar will also open early for the 10 a.m. games on Wednesday–Sunday. During U.S. and Switzerland matches, specials include half-off apple pie shots, and $18 buckets of beer.

CITYPARK ULTRA Club

2100 Market

The new home of soccer in St. Louis wants to be your home for the tournament, too. St. Louis CITY SC will be hosting watch parties for most matches at two locations inside the stadium. For the U.S. matches, fans will congregate inside the ULTRA Club on the south side of the facility, where food and beverages will be available to purchase. Take note, however, that each of the American matches will require a free reservation through SeatGeek. Doors open at 9 a.m. for the Wales and England matches, and at 8 a.m. for the Iran match. Games featuring other countries will be shown inside the stadium’s Brew Pub, which is located at 20th and Olive. Visit the website for a full schedule.

International Tap House

1711 S. 9th

6217 Delmar

Both the Soulard and Delmar iTAP locations will be open by 10 a.m. for group stage matches, with every screen tuned into the games. The bars will have a glass for purchase for discounted draft beers during matches. Of course, as the establishment’s name implies, a vast selection of global beers—including selections from World Cup countries—will be available.

The Pat Connolly Tavern

6400 Oakland

Catch the Americans in action at Pat Connolly’s, where the U.S. matches will be aired with sound in the upstairs event space. Take advantage of happy hour pricing during the U.S. games.

Rockwell Beer Company

1320 S. Vandeventer

Watch games at Rockwell and take advantage of specials on beer pitchers and food. The brewery will have a projector in the production space and games on every TV. Doors open at 11.

2nd Shift Brewing

1601 Sublette

Each of the U.S. matches will be shown on the big screen at 2nd Shift’s Tap Room. During games, take advantage of $3 pours of 2nd Shift’s Brewligans Hazy IPA. Although food service will not be available, you can bring your own snacks or have a meal delivered. Doors open at 11 a.m.

9 Mile Garden

9375 Gravois, Affton

Frankie Martin’s Garden

5372 St. Charles, Cottleville

At 9 Mile Garden, catch games inside the Canteen or outside on the big screen. Frankie Martin’s Garden in Cottleville will also show the matches.

DraftKings at Casino Queen

200 Front, East St. Louis

World Cup matches will be shown on the 60-foot video wall, and on more than two dozen LED TVs within the sportsbook. There, you’ll find beer buckets with five beers for $20.
