Cardinals fans will soon have a new spot to watch a game at Busch Stadium, an area specifically designed for socializing.
The team announced today that 1,000 seats were removed from an upper-right section of the stadium to make room for Budweiser Terrace. The multi-level development includes a garden-like concourse area, full views of the playing field, two full-service bars, an open-air barbecue grill, and a performance stage.

Fans don’t need a special ticket to access the Budweiser Terrace, and there are no assigned seats. Standing areas and lounge seating are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The removal of the seats began last November, and the terrace is expected to debut for the 2018 baseball season.

“We are excited about this new gathering place at Busch Stadium,” Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III said in a statement. “The Budweiser Terrace is designed to be a free attraction for fans looking for a social experience where they can watch the game and connect with other people at the same time.”
The 20,000-square-foot terrace will also serve as a pregame entertainment destination with live bands and DJs performing, as well as outdoor games and activities.
Budweiser Terrace isn’t the only new development for the Cardinals. The organization announced in December that construction of phase II of Ballpark Village has begun and will include a full build-out of Clark Street. The project will boast a 29-story luxury residential tower and a Class-A office building.
