A Travel Consultant and Medical Resident Rate Five Home Accessories

We’re paying homage to our country’s birthday this month by reviewing five décor objects made right here at home.

Cosgrove: Although a bit old-fashioned (and pricey) for my taste, this tray and mirror could display perfumes on your vanity or stand alone on a side table for a quick touch-up as you run out the door for work.

Zebala: This vanity has a European feel and is pure vintage glamour. It could be an ideal piece for holding small hand soaps in an elegant powder room.

Cosgrove: Perfect for stocking stuffers or going-away gifts, these handmade tile coasters are a cool reminder of all things St. Louis.

Zebala: Because I work in the travel industry, I love to see travel-related themes represented in design. I would buy these coasters for a guest room or to give as a hostess gift.

Cosgrove: A pleasant surprise! These vinyl floorcloths are incredibly versatile, functioning as a bright welcome into a sunroom or courtyard or as a mat under a farmhouse kitchen table.

Zebala: These mats are great for a patio or pool house. The patterns lend pop without adding color. They seem durable and could be easily hosed down. I would have one customized to fit a specific space.

Cosgrove: To me, horses symbolize beauty, power, and grace. Whether home is a cabin in Montana or a loft in New York City, these images create one spectacular centerpiece.

Zebala: The size of these photos makes them a statement piece for an office or country house. Yet, at that price point, I might lean toward something a bit  more personal.

Cosgrove: This ceramic piece is ideal as a birdbath hidden within the walls of a secret garden.

Zebala: This fountain fits  inside or outside the house. I see it in a powder room or as an unexpected catchall for keys and change. I love the spigot design, too.
