Today, Mercy Health opened Mercy Kids Mid Rivers in Cottleville (4525 Mid Rivers Mall), a 25,000-square-foot, $12 million center focused solely on pediatric outpatient care.

The facility is Mercy Health’s first outpatient center for kids in its entire four-state operation and is the first hospital of its kind in St. Charles County.

Mercy Kids Mid Rivers offers services in pediatric specialities including gastroenterology, neurology, sports medicine, psychiatry, and child/adolescent counseling services. The Mercy Kids Therapy and Development Center offers autism-related programs, a pediatric rehabilitation gym, and educational programs.

Incorporating behavioral and developmental health and therapy services was of major importance in the planning of the facility.

“Rather than caring for children only when they’re sick and need a hospital, Mercy Kids cares for the whole child, for their physical and emotional well being from conception through childhood, adolescence and into adulthood,” explains Mercy Kids president Joseph Kahn.

The hospital is the new home for Mercy Clinic Pediatrics-Mid Rivers (formerly St. Charles County Pediatrics), home to six Mercy Clinic pediatricians and two pediatric nurse practitioners.

In January 2015, a pediatric walk-in care clinic will open for those up to age 21.

Mercy Kids Mid Rivers is also hosting several upcoming events, including Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 6 featuring a free, kid-friendly breakfast and photo opportunities with Santa.
