Every third Friday of the month, families can explore the children’s museum for free. Current exhibits include “Super Kids Save the World,” a green superhero adventure, and “Wonder Works,” a hands-on exhibit that includes slides, tunnels, and climbing structures. Free. 5:30–9p.m. The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood.

Goldilocks

In this musical take on the well-known tale, Goldilocks learns much-needed lessons about friendship and acceptance when she meets Freddy, a bear with a penchant for science. Presented by Imaginary Theatre Company; recommended for ages 5 to 10. Free. Doors open at 6 p.m., performance 6:30–7:30 p.m. St. Louis County Library Headquarters, Main Media Room, 1640 S. Lindbergh.

February 20

George Washington’s Birthday Ball

Take a step back in time, and learn a few new dance moves from the Founding Fathers’ time. Dance mistress Deborah Hyland will lead a dance workshop and teach popular dance steps from 1856. Enjoy live music from a brass band while snacking on cookies and hot cider. Historic dress is not required to participate. Free. Dance class 9–11 a.m., ball noon–4 p.m. Old Courthouse, 11 N. 4th.

February 20 & 21

Superhero Day at Eckert’s

Take your tiny superhero to lunch (hot dogs, mac and cheese, and Jello) while Superman, Batman, and Captain America (actors in costumes) stand guard. Enjoy games, and pose with the superheroes in a special photo booth. Costumes are encouraged. Call 800-745-0513 to register. $22.50 per person. Tiny Weavings

Learn to make a loom and a woven pot holder from T-shirt yarn. Then take your loom home and make more tiny weavings.
