A rendering of the Midtown Topgolf
Midtown is getting a Topgolf.
On Tuesday, the sports-meets-entertainment venue released plans and a rendering for a Topgolf in the shadow of Saint Louis University, at Chouteau and Compton avenues. It will be the second Topgolf location in the St. Louis area and is expected to open in 2023. The other Topgolf location is in Chesterfield.
According to Topgolf, the Midtown location will feature three levels and 102 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays with Toptracer technology and Topgolf games including Angry Birds and Jewel Jam. The new space will also house a restaurant and bar, outdoor patio, rooftop terrace, and private event space. In addition to golf, Topgolf will host live music and family-friendly programs year-round. (And yes, you'll be able to see the Arch.)
The new Topgolf is part of the development overseen by the St. Louis Midtown Redevelopment Corporation, a partnership between Saint Louis University and SSM Health. In a news release, Saint Louis University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., said: “We are excited that Topgolf believes in our vision and is making this substantial investment in a neighborhood that we have been proud to call home for so many years. We are confident this project will bring even more vibrancy to our Midtown campus, the new Prospect Yards district and the Greater St. Louis region.” The new Topgolf is expected to bring approximately 400 jobs to the area.
