Art Outside starts tonight and runs through the weekend at Schlafly’s Bottleworks location in Maplewood (7260 Southwest Ave.). The alternative art fair features work from more than 50 artists based in the St. Louis area plus music from bands such as Rum Drum Ramblers and Cree Rider Family Band. As always, there will be plenty of food and drink from Schlafly Beer.
More than a dozen St. Louis historic attractions are asking visitors to snap a selfie as part of an exhibit currently on view at the Missouri History Museum. A cartoon-like frame will be available at each location for visitors to snap a photo and be a part of the exhibit “A Walk in 1875.” Post your pictures to Instagram using the tags #pictureyourselfstl or @missourihistorymuseum. Images will be selected for prizes including hotel stays and a professional family portrait sitting. Look for selfie frames at The Missouri Botanical Garden, The Old Courthouse, Faust Park Historic Village and Hanley House, among other locations.
Next month, the first The Peanuts Great Pumpkin Patch Express makes a stop at St. Louis Union Station. Guests will experience great views of St. Louis aboard the Express, including Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch and the Mississippi River. Riders will listen to themed music and hear the narration of Schulz’s story. Prior to the train's departure, get your photo taken with Lucy and Snoopy, then pick and decorate the perfect pumpkin. Halloween costumes are encouraged!
