In honor of both Valentine’s Day and National Ferris Wheel Day, St. Louis Union Station has announced a special package to “take love to new heights.”
The Date Night Package includes two Wheel tickets, two drinks from the Anheuser-Busch beverage container in the Wheel Park, and a photo package for two for $50.

The 200-foot-tall observation wheel will be lit in red and pink for Valentine’s Day. Don’t let the chilly weather deter you, as the Wheel’s gondolas are enclosed and kept at 72 degrees. Visitors are encouraged to extend the evening by adding a round of mini-golf or a ride on the St. Louis Carousel, both of which happen to be on the Wheel grounds. Love-themed music and light shows on the Union Station lake will run all night to offer romantic ambiance.
Although most guests will likely be there to celebrate the day of love, Union Station also made sure in its announcement to note that February 14 marks another holiday: National Ferris Wheel Day coincides with the birthday of the ride’s inventor, George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr.
Looking for a fact that’ll impress your date? Ferris’ amusement ride was a centerpiece of the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis’ Forest Park, but he actually debuted his Wheel at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago.
