Years ago, when Amanda Whittle’s son Kyler was a toddler, she began appliquéing shirts for him. “It’s hard to find good clothes for boys that are cute and don’t have footballs on them,” she says.

Shortly after getting laid off in 2010, Amanda launched a handmade line of clothing and accessories, Bohemian Babies, on Etsy, where she offers gender-neutral items in sizes ranging from newborn to size 6, as well as wool vests and tops for boys and floral leggings and dresses for girls.
