Left Bank Books in Central West End hosts story times for kids every Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
St. Louis Public Library
Visit your local library for stories, songs, and more for children. The library offers story times for babies, preschoolers, and children with sessions typically in the morning—but also afternoon and evening sessions for older kids. Check your local branch's storytelling dates/times.
St. Louis County Library
Each branch of the library hosts a story time on a weekday morning, and a few host them during the evenings for working parents. They host story times for babies under 36 months and for preschoolers. Check your local branch's storytelling dates/times.
Missouri History Museum
Held in the History Clubhouse, the museum's storytelling program helps preschoolers understand how history relates to them. Storytelling sessions are also held once a month in Spanish. Each 45-minute session includes a craft and is geared for kids ages 2–5. Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Lindell and DeBaliviere.
St. Louis Science Center
Enjoy a science-themed story hour at the St. Louis Science Center. Each week features a new book and related experiment for kids. Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. 5050 Oakland.
Left Bank Books
Kids of all ages are welcome to visit Left Bank Books for story time. The event lasts about 30 minutes (unless they have the author visiting in the store). The bookstore often hosts an activity that tie into the story. Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. 399 N. Euclid.
Subterranean Books
Join veteran story teller Georgy Rock for a morning of storytelling, songs, and silliness. All ages welcome. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. 6275 Delmar.
Barnes and Noble
St. Louis-area locations in Ladue and Des Peres host a weekly story time for kids in the children's department. Times and date vary by location, but will all feature a fun children's story, activity, and craft. Ladue location: Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. 8871 Ladue. Des Peres location: Wednesdays at 11 a.m. 113 West County Center.
Whole Foods
Who knew a visit to Whole Foods could be so entertaining? At the Town and Country location, each weekly story hour focuses on a healthy living theme, and kids can play games and complete a craft. Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 a.m. 1160 Town and Country Crossing.
