Located in Clayton, Oak Knoll Park (1 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton) is the second largest park in the town and features a play area where young ones can burn off their seemingly never-ending reserve of energy.

Oak Knoll visitors can enjoy its nature-themed equipment, including swings, slides, jungle gyms, and a mini merry-go-round–and beat the heat thanks to ample shade from towering trees. Plus, families can take a short stroll through the park to reach a picturesque pond that’s home to ducks and other creatures.

Angie’s Playground

Dedicated March 2022, Angie’s Playground (15 Manion Park, Florissant) is a colorful, welcoming space found within Florissant’s Manion Park–and North County’s first-ever all-inclusive playground.

Inclusive playgrounds are intentionally designed for children of all ages to use, learn, grow, and enjoy. Angie’s Playground does just that with its floral-themed equipment, which includes maze boards, a roll slide, sling swings, and stepping stones, so kids can climb, slide, swing, run, and play.

Bluebird Park

Bluebird Park (225 Kiefer Creek, Ellisville) offers two play structures atop poured rubber surfaces, so children can stumble and fall and count on soft landings. Equipment includes everything from a rock-climbing wall and monkey bars to swings, slides, tunnels, and other features kids love. Parents also love this spot because restrooms and drinking fountains are adjacent to the playground, which makes potty breaks easy and hassle-free.

Bluebird Park is also host to plenty of notable events throughout the year, such as its annual Easter Egg Scramble and Independence Day celebrations.

During summer hours (April to October), Bluebird Park is open from sunrise to 10 p.m., but it closes at sunset during winter hours (November to March).

DeMun Park

Also located in Clayton is DeMun Park (810 DeMun, Clayton), a local favorite known for its two onsite playgrounds: one designed for kids ages 2 to 5 and another for kids ages 5 to 12. The space itself is level and surrounded by a decorative steel fence to keep children safe.

Both playgrounds offer colorful equipment that’s age-appropriate, from slides to ladders to stepping stones.

DeMun is located less than five minutes from St. Louis’ iconic Forest Park, so parents can plan on a half- or full-day outing and include the Saint Louis Zoo or Saint Louis Art Museum on the itinerary.

Tot Lot

There may not be a more aptly named playground in the entire St. Louis metro than Tot Lot, (259 Bellemeade, St. Peters) a treasure of a park located in St. Peters.

The enclosed playground was renovated in 2009 and offers children plenty of opportunities to play. Young ones enjoy ascending the climbing walls, tumbling down slides, running across bridges, and playing with other interactive equipment. The rubber mats help break falls, and there’s an adjacent pavilion ideal for picnics and snack breaks.

Another plus? Tot Lot stands next to basketball courts, so older sisters and brothers can play pickup games and perfect their shots while their siblings pass the time away on the playground equipment.
