Acclaimed chef Logan Ely announced today in an Instagram video that he plans to open Savage & The Accomplice, paying homage to his debut fine-dining restaurant concepts in the Fox Park neighborhood, “starting January 23 for an undetermined amount of time.”
Savage & The Accomplice will offer a 10-course tasting menu for $95 (plus an optional $55 beverage pairing). Reservations can be made here.

Savage first opened in August 2018. Known for creative tasting menus that pushed diners’ understanding of what food could be, it was a critically acclaimed success. Two years after its opening, Ely rebranded the restaurant as Shift, citing a “troubled history” and connotation of the original moniker. The restaurant remained open for two years before closing in 2022.
Following his initial wave of success in St. Louis, Ely opened two other restaurants, The Lucky Accomplice, which ran from 2020 until this past December, and Press, which opened in 2022.

As Ely explains in the video announcing the planned opening of Savage & The Accomplice, the decision to revisit his original fine-dining concepts was based on the feedback that he continued to receive from former restaurant guests, even years after it closed.
“Over the past few months, really since the restaurant closed, so many people have come up to us and told us how many great memories they had at the restaurant, and it kind of clicked for me that we were providing this thing that some people thought was special and they had really great memories,” Ely says in the video. “So that’s what we’re going to do: For an undetermined amount of time, cook like we used to at Savage, serve like we used to, hopefully provide some really fun memories for people like the old days.”
Ely first opened his own restaurants in his hometown after returning from stints at some of the world’s most acclaimed kitchens, including The French Laundry in Napa Valley, Blue Hill in New York and top restaurants in Hong Kong and Copenhagen.
