Best Day Brewing’s NA craft beer arrives in St. Louis

The Northern California–based company distributes beer to 11 states and offers a range of nonalcoholic options, including Kolsch, Hazy IPA, West Coast IPA, Electro Lime (Mexican Lager), Nature’s Pils, and Yuzu-Ginger Shandy.

St. Louis is getting a new nonalcoholic beer option as Best Day Brewing, a Northern California–based leader in the non-alcoholic craft scene, makes its local debut. Founded in 2022 in Sausalito, California, Best Day Brewing began as a nationwide subscription-based brewery but has since expanded to distributing its beer to 11 states, including Illinois and now Missouri.

“We’re excited to bring Best Day to St. Louis—it’s my hometown after all,” says chief innovation officer Ron Lindenbusch, who’s a Florissant native. “Best Day is about enjoying a full-strength beer experience without the alcohol, and we think the St. Louis beer community will appreciate that.”

At the forefront of Best Day’s offerings is its Kolsch-style NA beer, a nod to St. Louis’ love of German-inspired brews. “Kolsch has always been a beer style that resonates with this region,” says Lindenbusch. “Our version is made with 20 percent Vienna malt, real German hops, and true Kolsch yeast. You’ll get that classic full-flavored Kolsch profile—just without the alcohol. We make a full-strength beer and then gently remove the alcohol, preserving all the taste.”

In addition to the Kolsch, St. Louis consumers can look forward to other popular NA styles, including Hazy IPA, West Coast IPA, Electro Lime (Mexican Lager), Nature’s Pils, and Yuzu-Ginger Shandy.

The Process

NA beer is rapidly gaining traction in the U.S. Thanks to advancements in brewing technology, today’s NA beers deliver a flavor and experience that rival traditional brews, without the health risks associated with alcohol. For many, this opens the door to enjoying the taste of craft beer without the buzz.

Best Day’s brewing process, however, sets it apart in the NA category. The company starts by brewing a full-strength beer and then uses a cutting-edge method to gently remove the alcohol without sacrificing flavor. “We’re not just stopping fermentation early or cutting corners,” Lindenbusch says. “We’re crafting a beer that tastes just like the real thing—because it is the real thing, just without the booze. We are committed to quality that ensures each sip delivers the full craft beer experience, allowing St. Louis beer lovers to enjoy the flavor they crave any time of day.”

Where to Find Best Day

You can find Best Day’s beer in cans and on tap at many popular St. Louis bottle shops, grocery stores, and bars. Emily Bergeson of Craft Republic, Best Day’s distributor, is optimistic about its local success.

“We’ve already seen strong interest from both bars and restaurants across the city,” says Bergeson. “You’ll find their beer at Dogwood in The Grove, and Schnucks and Whole Foods are also carrying the brand. It’s an exciting time because the NA category is really growing in St. Louis.”
