It's a big night in the restaurant industry and a bigger one for the St. Louis Effort for Aids. the charity responsible for providing testing, education, and assistance to AIDS patients. Tonight, 137 restaurants will donate from 25 to 100 % of their lunch and/or dinner sales to the local charity; and tonight, in conjunction with Dining Out for Life, similar donations will be made in 50 cities across the country. St. Louis has contributed for 18 years, more times than any other city save Philadelphia, where the idea originated.
One would think with that many participating restaurants (including three in St. Charles), it would be hard to find a place that's not involved. Oddly, several pockets of the city have scant participation (like West County), but there is a solution for the well-intentioned who live in those areas: simply text DOFL to 30364 to find the nearest participating restaurant to your zip code. If texting, message and data rates apply.
And please note that the only restaurant to donate 100% of its sales, Atomic Cowboy, is already fully booked. For the remaining restaurants, click here. Book a table directly from that website, or make a traditional reservation, but do call ahead... we must be thorough with our worthy intentions.
