It's taken St. Louis jeweler Adam Foster only one year to rise to what might be considered the top of the fashion industry: Bergdorf Goodman.
The luxury retailer and New York City landmark is showing two of Foster’s collections, Constellation and Plume, now through March 4. He is the only St. Louis designer currently featured in Bergdorf's fine jewelry selection.
“The Constellation pieces are inspired by the ceilings in Italy in churches,” Foster says. “Usually they’re painted in lapis and they’ve got star patterns and things like that on them.”
The pieces in the Plume collection are, of course, inspired by feathers.
The collections feature everything from cocktail rings to necklaces, as well as more unusual and one-of-a-kind pieces that have taken anywhere between several months and seven years to produce.
All of the jewelry Foster produces is designed and manufactured locally at his store in Brentwood.
Foster launched his first collection in 2017, and it's currently sold at Neiman Marcus and independent retailers in St. Louis, California, and New York. Bergdorf Goodman began featuring his work on February 22.
“It’s a huge deal," Foster says of the achievement. "Bergdorf Goodman is arguably the highest-end store in the country, if not the world. It’s amazing, and their customers are amazing.”
