Fabric Books
“I have some fabrics picked out for clients. If I just gave them 10 books, it’s like drinking from a fire hose. I love to have more pops of color.”
Lining Swatches
To better personalize suits, Tyler offers unique suit lining fabric, from a van Gogh print to watercolor designs. “Everyone wants to make it theirs and show a little personality,” he says. “When they’re out, you’d be surprised at how many clients take their jacket off and go, ‘Man, look at my lining!’ They become conversation pieces.”
Measuring Tape
Tyler often takes between 40 and 50 measurements for personalized suits.
Fit
“Most of my clients, when they come to me initially, are trying to solve a problem. Seventy-five percent of the time, it’s fit. I’ve experienced it myself, being tall and thin.”
St. Louis Style
“As far as traditional suiting, you’re seeing guys start to step their game up. They’re wearing brighter blues. They’re wearing more patterned sport coats. We’re still more traditional, but I think we’re evolving into taking chances with our wardrobes.”
Attire
Marzoni suit jacket and Vitale Barberis Canonico pants. “Italians, they get it right when it comes to dressing,” Tyler laughs. “They dress outside the box. They don’t want a normal dark suit. What I love is the makeup of the colors and the different patterns and textures.”
