August 4: Shania Twain

August 10–16: Oklahoma!
Rogers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! brims over with catchy tunes. It’s such a classic, we forget it was groundbreaking—and that it won a Pulitzer. Count on The Muny to do it justice. August 10–16. The Muny, Forest Park, muny.org.
August 12: My Morning Jacket

August 15: Sammy Hagar

August 19: Foo Fighters
You didn’t see him in Montage of Heck, but you can see Dave Grohl in person this month with the Foo Fighters, playing songs from the band’s latest, Sonic Highways. August 19, 7 p.m., Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, livenation.com.
August 21–23: Festival of the Little Hills
Whether you call it Fête des Petites Côtes or Festival of the Little Hills, chances are you’ll find art, food, or music to your liking at this enormous, long-running festival in St. Charles. August 21–23, Main Street and Frontier Park, festivalofthelittlehills.com.
August 23: St. Louis World’s Fare
For its second year, the St. Louis World’s Fare moves out of the Grand Basin and into—where else?—the World’s Fair Pavilion. The weekend’s events include live music, an art village, and a “Culinary Pike.” August 23, Forest Park, 314-853-6257, stlworldsfare.com.
August 29: 52nd Annual Moonlight Ramble
The route for the 52nd Annual Moonlight Ramble is still a secret (it’ll be announced August 26), but the ride remains the same: thousands of giddy people riding bikes at midnight under a full moon, wearing glow-in- the-dark shirts and jelly bracelets filled with fluorophore. August 29 & 30: Festival of Nations
Now that the International Institute of St. Louis has settled into St. Elizabeth’s old campus, the staff and volunteers can go to town with all kinds of cool new programming for Festival of Nations, including another printing of that famous cookbook.
