Trunk by Moxi
Just as a farmers' market brings together local growers, Trunk by Moxi Enterprises brings together local artists and designers. Established by Moxi president and CEO Gregg Garland, Trunk hosts a market of material goods cultivated from within the St. Louis area. From delicate jewelry to eccentric clothing, Trunk strives to showcase designers with fresh ideas in an organic setting. The quarterly pop-up boutique is an opportunity for shoppers to support local and regional designers and even meet the artists themselves.
Garland explains that although every trunk show features a new group of artists, the effort to keep everything, “locally made, locally produced, and locally designed” remains the same. The event also offers food and beverages from area restaurants.
The show's venue (1939 S. Vandeventer) creates a raw and industrial atmosphere. Garland compares the space to that of a New York warehouse fit for entertaining and housing impressive art. The open area built out by Garland will host the second installment of Trunk this Thursday, June 26 from 7 to 10 p.m. The Summer Trunk will present the work of 12 artists accompanied by delectable snacks and tasty beverages provided by local favorites such as Sasha’s Wine Bar and Crispy Edge.
