Shine Boutique (9811 Clayton, 314-942-3055, shineboutiquestlouis.com) in Ladue is now open.

“There was a void to fill when Melanie’s closed,” says owner Tamara Netsch. She is talking about the much-loved jewelry boutique that closed in 2014 after three decades in business. Netsch says she chose to open her business in Melanie’s old location because of her history in the community and the relationships that she had built there over time. (Netsch used to work in retail and in merchandising at Melanie’s.)

With the opening of Shine, Netsch hopes to “provide a place where people can come and pick that perfect gift or something special for themselves,” she says. The store carries gifts and unique items such as jewelry, accessories, St. Louis’-own “Greendals” flip-flops, Webster Wax candles, body products, and more.
