One of St. Louis’ freshest takes on art can be found in the Central West End at projects+gallery (4733 McPherson, 314-696-8678). The art collective and gallery prides itself on introducing the community to new artists, and Paris-based ceramicist Stéphane Margolis is one of them. The artist, who is originally from the South of France, has a background in gardening, sculpture, and painting. An avid collector of historic ceramics, Margolis incorporates pottery and live plants into his work.

Géothermie is the name of Margolis’ newest and latest collection, which combines his skills and affinity for plants, painting, and ceramics. Featuring classic, mid-century ceramics collected from Vallauris, France, the collection melds both natural and artistic history with nature leaving its imprint of time.

projects+gallery Director Dorte Bjerregaard Probstein looks forward to the audience’s reaction to the artwork.

“Stéphane’s work is unique and beautiful yet subtle with strong messages,” she says.

Géothermie will be on display June 3-July 30, 2016, at projects+gallery.
