This afternoon, the St. Louis Cardinals and LiveNation announced that singer-songwriter Billy Joel will perform at Busch Stadium on September 21. Tickets, which start at just under $50, go on sale February 10 at 10 a.m. Last year, when it was announced that former Beatle Paul McCartney would play Busch, tickets sold out in record time; Joel fans with an American Express card or Cardinals season tickets have an advantage this time around—they’ll be able to buy presale tickets as early as February 6.
The concert marks Joel’s first stadium performance in St. Louis, and this will be his only tour appearance in Missouri. The singer-songwriter’s career stretches back to 1973, when he released his now-iconic single “Piano Man.” Since then, he’s been nominated for 23 Grammy awards (winning six), and is the third best-selling solo artist in America. He’s also charted 33 consecutive Top 40 hits. Here’s a few of those to tide you over till Joel performs in St. Louis in the fall:
