Sad news for Kate Spade fans. Kate Spade Saturday, a more affordable subset of the popular Kate Spade brand featuring casually-styled clothing and accessories for women, was one of the most highly anticipated additions to Taubman Prestige Outlets, and just a couple weeks after opening, Kate Spade has confirmed that it will be closing the store in the next few months.
Last month, Kate Spade announced that it would be shuttering all Kate Spade Saturday stores and folding the brand back into the established Kate Spade New York Line.

“A key tenet of our roadmap for growth is ensuring that we are disciplined and forward-looking with our investments, putting our resources behind targeted initiatives that will maximize profitability and shareholder value in the near, mid and long term,” said Craig Leavitt, CEO of Kate Spade & Company, in a statement about the closures.
The 1,800-square-foot Kate Spade Saturday location at Taubman Prestige Outlets is one of the first Kate Spade Saturday locations in the Midwest, with the next closest store in Houston.
A Kate Spade spokeswoman explained that existing Kate Spade Saturday stores could transition into other Kate Spade-branded retailers, but no decisions have been made.
Kate Spade Saturday has not announced an official closing date, but the company said that it would be closing all of its stores in the first half of 2015. The store is currently open at Taubman Prestige Outlets from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
