Justin Timberlake first stole our hearts as the breakout member of the ’90s boyband NYSNC. Now, he is an iconic singer, actor, dancer—the list goes on. Over the years, he’s racked up quite the acclaim and devoted fans. Which explains why when he canceled his December show in St. Louis due to vocal cord issues, we took the news pretty hard. But thankfully, Timberlake returned to our city Thursday night on his Man of the Woods tour and played to a sold-out crowd at Enterprise Center.
Before the star came on stage, DJ Freestyle Steve, donning a St. Louis Blues jersey, kept the crowd on their feet and animated by playing well-known hits before and after J.T.’s opener Francesco Yates. Yates, a 23-year-old Canadian singer, brought fast-paced pop stylings layered with a couple of guitars. Certainly an up-and-comer, you might know Francesco for his songs like “Call” or his part in Robin Schulz’s “Sugar.” His short set included “Satin Sheets,” “Do You Think About Me,” and Bruno Mars’ “Finesse.”

His band, singers, and dancers known as The Tennessee Kids entered the all-black, sleek stage through a thick cloud of smoke. After a brief pause, Timberlake hit the stage the same way, followed by two hours of singing, dancing, and delighting as fans swooned.
Starting with “Filthy,” Timberlake toggled between songs off of his Man of the Woods album and the songs he coined in the early 2000s. Fans were able to enjoy everything from “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” to “SexyBack.”
