Last weekend, popular activewear brand Lululemon opened its second St. Louis location in Central West End’s Maryland Plaza (13 Maryland Plaza, 314-454-6857). Lululemon previously operated a test store on Euclid before opening its first complete location at Plaza Frontenac a few years ago.
"The Maryland Plaza store makes us feel like we're coming back to our St. Louis roots," Lululemon spokesperson Nina Gardner says. "It's in a beautiful retail space in a growing area, which is exciting, and the store was designed with a ton of feedback from the store manager and employees. We want it to feel like St. Louis."
Gardner says that this store was developed with a “root down, rise up” theme, incorporating design elements that reflect the Central West End and the yoga-based manifesto of the brand. “Everything in the store—from the events to the paint colors—are chosen by the store team to reflect the community,” says Gardner. “Although the products in the two St. Louis locations will be very similar, this store has its own identity as part of the Central West End.”
And for those starting their holiday shopping, Gardner suggests looking for merchandise that reflects the recipient's exercise routine: "Whomever you're buying a gift for, it's important to consider what is going to enhance their exercise of choice. Our cold-weather running gear is highly functional, stylish, and warm, and always a great choice this time of year."
