Get Hands-On with Cardinals History

The journey begins when the team first took shape and progresses through each era of Cardinals baseball. Artifacts on display year-round include game-worn jerseys from Hall of Famers such as Bob Gibson and Ozzie Smith, championship trophies, rare ticket stubs, and even original scorecards from pivotal games. Visitors can admire Stan Musial’s locker setup, see a glove used by Lou Brock, or examine the bat that Mark McGwire used during his record-breaking 1998 season.

Visitors can literally get their hands on history in the “Holding History” area, where museum guides provide gloves so fans can hold game-used bats and even try on authentic World Series rings from 2006 and 2011. The Cards Candids photo booth allows visitors to insert themselves into legendary moments alongside Cardinals greats—perfect for a game-day keepsake

In addition to the permanent displays, the museum keeps the experience fresh by rotating in new artifacts each year. Curator Amy Berra and her team continuously update cases with milestone memorabilia, including items from recent seasons, such as jerseys worn during key playoff runs or gear from rising stars on the current roster.

New for 2025: Growing Up Cardinal

Each year, a special exhibit rotates through the museum. This year’s spotlight is “Growing Up Cardinal,” a nostalgic and vibrant showcase of what it means to grow up as a Cardinals fan.

The exhibit features items that speak to generations of fandom, from a seat in Sportsman’s Park to jerseys, bobbleheads, and merchandise designed for young fans. It also highlights historic programs such as the Knot Hole Gang, which gave kids in the 1920s access to games, encouraging community engagement and lifelong Cardinals loyalty.

Interactive features such as the “Post (It) Your Memories” wall and artwork from the Redbird Rookies youth program invite guests to reflect on their own childhood baseball memories.
