A mild-mannered financial planner by day, this St. Louis stud spends his weekends gracing the pages of national magazines

You might find St. Louisan Nick Fichter taking a run around Forest Park, eating breakfast with one of his clients or in the latest issue of Men’s Health or Men’s Fitness, but you won’t find him with a free moment. A financial planner during the week and freelance model on the weekend, Fichter loves being busy.
“The minute I’m sitting there for two hours, relaxing or having downtime on the weekend, I need to start doing something,” Fichter says. Although he already had a full schedule, including a day job at Northwestern Mutual in Clayton and long workouts at the gym, modeling was a new challenge he welcomed. His roommate and fitness trainer, Dan Skinner, suggested he give it a try. “I thought, ‘Why not? It sounds like fun,’” Fichter says.
The key to his modeling success has been his lifelong devotion to the gym. “I had always grown up working out; it’s just part of my life,” Fichter says. “Modeling gave me more incentive.”
However, his focus remains on his career in financial planning. “It’s more interactive with people,” Fichter says. “You really get to know someone when you’re helping them with their money."
