“Sports are more than just a conversation starter,” says Tom Ackerman, sports director at KMOX and a St. Louis native. “Sports are a big driver of who we are and how we come together. If you’re a sports fan, you’re coming to a town that gets you.”
“I’ve been a cheerleader for the city my whole life,” says restaurateur Qui Tran. “I’ve always known St. Louis has good food. Now, it’s exciting that others are starting to know that.”
Through her nonprofit workforce development organization, Zekita Armstrong Asuquo is training under-resourced high school students for entry-level jobs in the geospatial field.
