In this episode, host Mike Miller chats with Penny Pennington, managing partner of Edward Jones. The discussion touches on the company’s St. Louis roots, how Edward Jones has benefitted from being a St. Louis institution, and the ways in which it is leveraging artificial intelligence to assist clients. Pennington also shares insights into The Great Wealth Transfer, as well as things that older and younger generations alike should consider as they plan their financial futures. When I think about the natural resources—where we are in the country—when I think about our cultural and sports resources, when I think about our history, St. Louis has so much going for it that is relatively unknown. When I read about how other people think about St. Louis outside of our region, it’s sort of a neutral view. People don’t know exactly what to think of St. Louis. When they come here and see the number of assets that we have and all of the attributes we have—it’s not just one thing that we have going for us. It’s so many things. As much as anything, it’s about telling that story. We’ve got to tell that story well to ourselves, and say nice things about ourselves because there’s a lot of positive going on here.
