“MTM has always been a growth mindset company. I started in the business in 2003 and we were about $30 million in revenue back then. We’ve always been scaling. We’ve always been growing. The industry that we’re in, it’s really dependent on technology … Technology is expensive and that continual investment is ever-changing. To be able to afford and provide state-of-the-art technology, we needed to scale. We needed to have the revenue base to continue to invest and grow. Right after COVID, as we were going through our strategic plan, we said, ‘OK, we’re going to invest in this. Is it the time to do that? Should we sell? Are we at our peak? Should we double down and grow?’ We came away saying that we’ve got a great company. We’ve got a great culture. We know the business really well. It’s time to grow. So we went with a mergers and acquisitions plan. We raised capital with our senior debut partners—regular banking institutions—and we said that we’re looking for businesses to buy.”
